Surely Charles Babbage would be more appropriate? ..or if you want to get the first instance of a Digital computer then Konrad Zuse would be the person of note.

I'd add -Fallout 1997 -Xcom 1994 : first game of it's kind in 3d isometric, turn by turn (and the reboot is there) -Baldur's Gate 1998, it's the ground work for other games : IcewindDale, Everwinter Nights and Kotors. -Morrowind/Elder Scroll3 2002, It's the first of the new generation of Bethesda RPG (huge step forward from ES2/daggerfall and pavement for ES4, ES5, Fallouts by bethesda) -Homeworld 1999: completely new gameplay -Eve online 2003 -Total Annihilation 1997, first RTS with such scale of maps and units, mods -Duke Nukem 3D, this game has so many other games reuse it's engine -Quake 1996 : ground work for the quake engine -Quake 2: 1997 had many other games reuse the engine
Hey Eugene M, you have forgotten Runescape a very well recognised game and one of the most popular MMOs ever. Please put this in your Timeline as I feel this is a massive hole in it which you could fill. Thank you for your efforts.
What would be interested or at least helpful would be able to expand on the key features of each generation in the description and what consoles they were. Sort of vague of what defines a generation
it is really cool!
