*Emancipation Proclamation* It was a Presidential Proclamation and executive order issued by President Abraham Lincoln. It granted freedom to slaves only if the Confederate states did not return by January 1, 1863. Freedom would only come if the Union won the war.
*End of Reconstruction* The Compromise of 1877 was an unwritten deal, that settled the disputed 1876 US presidential election. It resulted in the United States federal government pulling the last troops out of the South, and ended the Reconstruction Era.
*Gettysburg Address* It was a speech delivered during the American Civil War by President Abraham Lincoln at the dedication of the Soldiers' National Cemetery in Gettysburg. He wanted to bring together the country when it was divided by different views of the war. He also used it to reiterate his view of the purpose and future of the US.
*Kansas Nebraska Debate* The act led to the American Civil War as it allowed each territory to decide the issue of slavery on the basis of popular sovereignty. Kansas as a slave state violated the Missouri Compromise, which kept the Union from falling apart for 34 years.
