the inshago bone, the inshago bone was first found in 1950 and was one of the first ways that math was portrayed. it is one of the oldest mathematical artefact that we know of. it is currently under the hands of the museum of science in Brussels, Belgium. this piece is very improtent to the math of today because since we found it we have found out how they used the inshago bone to turn those lines to numbers and how they made symbols to show the different numbers.
Sumerian Multiplication table, this is also a very old artefact that helped math a lot because it tells us how it developed from lines to dots showing the number of something and then making it into something that can show us how they would solve math problems. it is one of the oldest tables ever found. the table usually ranged around 6 meters to 3 kilometres long. this arefact is very important because it devoped the way to geometry, arithmetic and algebra.
Democritus, Democritus was very important in the math and the science world because he was the one that figured out that all matter was made up of tiny atoms that are smaller than a millimetre, he was important in the math world because he is the one that created the one and only formula for prisms and cones, we need to know this because if you want to know the mass of something Is then you can use the formula to figure it out.
Heron of Alexandria, Heron was the best experimenter in math history his inventions included things like the windmills, pantograph as well as the steam turbine. he created these amazing inventions by the formula that he created also known as the Hero's formula. the Hero's formula allows you to calculate the area of a triangle using only the length of the sides of the triangle. this is important to math because it demonstrated how it would be possible to calculate the area of any shape big or small.
Al-Ṣābiʾ Thābit ibn Qurrah al-Ḥarrānī, Al-Ṣābiʾ Thābit ibn Qurrah al-Ḥarrānī was famous for his studies in algebra geometry and mechanics, he was the one that calculated the problem of the chessboard problem. however, he was also the founder of statistics and believed that statistics make everything easier and simpler to read. he is important to the history of math because he helped us discover something that can make data be more clear to read and understand.
Suàn shù shū, The Suàn shù shū were math problem including Things like integers, fraction, how to find the Area of something 3 dimensional etc. The Suàn shù shū consist of 200 strips of bamboo Written in ink, these bamboo strips confirm that the People in the old days were trying to correct or get pie. These bambo strips are important because it confirms That people in the past tried to solve the formula for Pie
Da Vinci’s Polyhedra, Da Vinci was originally known for his art and masterpieces However he was also known because of his presents in maths. Da Vinci’s Polyhedra Was all about his creativity when it comes to 3D shapes He often made a solid shape and then also made a transparent ones so that You could see the edges, by creating such a thing that you could see the edges It opened up a whole new world with 3 dimensional shapes, and how you can Look at them. This was important because it helped us create th
Simon Stevin, Simon Stevin Was one of the first ever people to use and write About using decimals in fractions, he also did geometry, physics And trigonometry, he used his knowledge in decimal fractions To write a book about it. This helped us develop the idea of decimal Numbers as it gets used daily now a days.
Sir Issac Newton, Sir Issac Newton Was very important because he was the One to create the laws of physics and to create gravity. He was a physicist and mathematician and created the laws Of motion and gravity. He calculated the speed of sound. This is Important because he created the formula that now helps us to Calculate force and friction.
Joseph-Louis Lagrange, Joseph-Louis Lagrange Was a huge help to the mathamatic World because he discovered the metric system that helps Us everyday. Because of his knowledge from the research that He did whilst travelling around the world, he discovered that If there was a system that everybody used than it would be So much easier than multiple different systems, so he created The metric system that we now use worldwide.
Florence Nightingale, Florence Nightingale is known for her use of Infographics and was one of the first people to Use pie charts, she used statistics to help with Medicine. This is important because this shows how Important mathematics can be even is science and Medicine.
Robert Langlands, Robert Langlands Was an American- Canadian mathematician He is known for his work in theories, he believed that if we bring Multiple different math equations together than you will get the Answer to life however, that is not what he did, what he did was He brought a bunch of different theories and linked them together to End in a result for math. This is important because this could lead To us learning more about how the world works.
Zero, Zero was first founded in 650 , it was used when The absence of a number, so they would put 0 instead Of 1 to indicate that there is a missing or a number That is not there. So zero was a replacement number Until they started using it to complete numbers for Example 100 (the 00 at the end indicate that there is A missing number). This is important because it shows How the number zero began and where it ended here today.
