Al-Ṣābiʾ Thābit ibn Qurrah al-Ḥarrānī was famous for his studies in algebra
geometry and mechanics, he was the one that calculated the problem
of the chessboard problem. however, he was also the founder of statistics
and believed that statistics make everything easier and simpler to read.
he is important to the history of math because he helped us discover something
that can make data be more clear to read and understand.
