A war fought between the colonist and Britain. The colonist wanted independence from Britain once and for all. Taxes, Proclamation of 1763, Salutary Neglect were just some of the reasons for the cause of the war. In the end, Britain loses to the colonist in the Battle of Yorktown

2) The Great Seal of the United States motto: Novus Ordo Seclorum, meaning "A New Order of the Ages"
