A war fought between the colonist and Britain. The colonist wanted independence from Britain once and for all. Taxes, Proclamation of 1763, Salutary Neglect were just some of the reasons for the cause of the war. In the end, Britain loses to the colonist in the Battle of Yorktown1) Changes stimulated the rise of egalitarianism: A belief in the equality of all people; regardless wealth and family background
2) The Great Seal of the United States motto: Novus Ordo Seclorum, meaning "A New Order of the Ages"
