Washington’s Farewell Address
Description:
Washington’s Farewell Address was very important because it set an example of governmental ideals to future presidents. In March of 1797, George Washington retired from presidency after serving two terms. He created the two-term tradition and passed on his expectations for America in his farewell address that was printed in newspapers all across the nation. He wrote about how to maintain a strong, central government, avoiding foreign entanglements and political parties. As president, Washington heavily contributed to the evolution of America by creating a strong foundation for governmental affairs. 3.3, II *Hamilton's "One Last Time" is about Washington's resignation. Also, it was performed at the White House for Obama so that's super cool.*
