The Great Awakening
Description:
As early American colonies began to develop, religion did too. The Great Awakening was a grassroots American movement during the 1730s and 1740s. It paralleled the Enlightenment and it put more emphasis on individual emotion and piety in Christian worship. It gave light to many new forms of preaching and from a combination of The Great Awakening and the Enlightenment, new religions such as Deism, came to be.
