The Anglo-Spanish agreement is renewed and the enforcement to fight the transatlantic trade strengthened. As such, British naval ships are allowed to inspect suspected slave ships and to bring the suspected slaver to trial in Havana and in Sierra Leon . Furthermore, the renewed treaty including more details regarding the procedures to be followed when to identify slavers. For instance, vessels that carried certain items such as foodstuffs, lumber, and extra mess gear were considered as belonging to slavers from the onset. Therefore, such actions substantially contributed to the fight against slavery.
