What is CCPA?
The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) is a comprehensive privacy law that gives California residents more control over their personal information. It provides specific rights regarding the collection, use, and sharing of personal information by businesses.
Your rights under CCPA
As a California resident, you have the following rights:
- Right to know: You can request information about what personal data we collect and how we use it
- Right to delete: You can request deletion of your personal information
- Right to opt-out: You can opt-out of the sale of your personal information
- Right to non-discrimination: You cannot be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights
SOPIPA compliance (Student Online Personal Information Protection Act)
California's SOPIPA (Bus. & Prof. Code §22584 et seq.) applies to operators of websites used primarily for K-12 school purposes. When TimeGraphics is used by a California K-12 school through a School Account:
- We do not use student data for targeted advertising
- We do not use student data to build profiles for non-educational commercial purposes
- We do not sell student data
- We do not disclose student data except as described in our Subprocessors page
- We implement reasonable security measures appropriate to the nature of the student data (see Security)
- We delete student data upon request from the school or when the data is no longer needed for its educational purpose
Student data and CCPA
Student data collected by TimeGraphics at the direction of a K-12 school may be exempt from certain CCPA provisions under Cal. Civ. Code §1798.145(q) (FERPA exemption) and §1798.145(h) (activities regulated by FERPA). Parents with questions about student data should contact the school in the first instance, or TimeGraphics at privacy@time.graphics.
