Vice president under Thomas Jefferson’s term in office
Served one term then got fired because he provoked fears of secession and foreign intrigue with vast expansion of territory (with the Louisiana Purchase)
Joined a Federalist extremist group to plot secession of NY and New England
Hamilton exposed him and foiled the conspiracy, even though Jefferson was his foe
Hamilton got killed by Burr in a duel
Burr then goes to foil with General Wilkinson→ planned to break the western territories away from the US and then expand new confederacy
1806: Burr and followers go to meet Garrison but he betrays and exposes Burr
Burr is brought to trial but is eventually tried for treason, but is eventually acquitted
Fled to Europe because his political career is over
