Alger Hiss (1 янв 1948 г. – 1 янв 1950 г.)
Описание:
Alger Hiss was a man, somewhat similar to the Rosenberg's, in the sense that he was a Soviet spy. Hiss would go onto being convicted of perjury, lying in court even after taking an oath, and would be found guilty of the claims that he was passing secure documents to a man named Whitaker Chambers. He was, however, not executed and would die at the ripe age of 92 continually pleading that he was innocent and not a Soviet spy. This just goes to show the paranoia and fear that was running throughout America, regardless of if Hiss was innocent or guilty, the United States would have given him the same punishment during the Cold War.
