The attacks on lower Canada were far more dangerous than the events in upper Canada. Throughout the spring and summer of 1837 leaders in the province experienced some long political tensions most prominent being Louis-Joseph Papineau a politician to organize a large numbers of rebels. Soon all the british citizens were transferred to lower canada. The rebels fighting for lower canada didn’t want to share it with the British because they wanted their own land and culture to stay alive in Lower canada. The french patriots had to fight with the british on three locations St. Eustache, St. Denis and St Charles. After so many attacks the british won and let lower canada on fire and killed as many french troops. Many patriots fled to the united states while other’s returned to Canada after the amnesty was declared in 1843.
