Allied troops were closing in on a victory. They would cross the Rhine river and encounter Russian troops. The Russians would win the battle and take Berlin. Hitler would later commit suicide deep in a bunker, and Germany would surrender ensuring the victory of WWII to the allied forces. WWII ended.
