When Germany invaded Poland, FDR was convinced that America would have to enter the war eventually on the side of the allies. The invasion would lead to England and France declaring war on Germany. This would also lead to another Neutrality Act permitting the sale of arms to countries at war. American's attitudes would change and more people would agree with Roosevelt that the best thing o do was prepare for the war.
