A Dakota group that chooses to use force against the settlers convinces Little Crow to fight the settlers and traders. Many Dakota don’t want to fight, but warriors kill traders and government workers at the Lower Sioux Agency, attack settlements along the Minnesota River Valley, and ambush Fort Ridgely.
