This is basically another leap in AI just like the Furby was, but better. The AIBO is a robotic pet dog meant to be their owner's companion furthermore it was designed to "learn" its surroundings and owners. When looking at it through the timeline it is basically all the advancements and creations of robotics combined into one incredible AI robot.
