Economic Globalization
Economic globalization is based on the interdependence of countries, and trade has a large influence on that. Trade makes it possible for us to receive fruits such as raspberries and pineapples during the off season when they can't be grown in Canada. As well, trade connects countries and allows for an exchange of goods.
The raspberries in my lunch entered the country from Mexico, and had 0% tariff since Mexico is part of the USMCA. The pineapple in my lunch is from Costa Rica, and came into Canada with a 0% tariff due to CETA. The CETA agreement allows for Spanish fruits and vegetables to come into the country without being taxed. This benefits both the horticulture industry in Spain, and the consumers in Canada.
Due to these two trade agreements I am able to have non domestic fruits in my lunch year round, at a reasonable cost.
