1 янв 1920 г. - Germany's Ultra-nationalism (After the Treaty of Versailles) G e r m a n y

Описание:

After the end of World War 1 Germany was in economic turmoil due to the treaty that made it pay billions of dollars to other countries to keep it from becoming another super power. During this time there was a socialist uprising that established a series of communist parties within Germany. In order to pay back their debt, Germany printed large amounts of money which lead to inflation and the German franc to become worth one millionth of what it used to be. Adolf Hitler was one of the first politicians to speak out and act out against the treaty's terms. In the early 1930's people lost faith in the German government known as the Weimar Republic, and this allowed Hitler and his party, the National Socialist German Workers party also known as the Nazi party to rise into power. Hitler appealed to many people because he promised a more powerful Germany and told them that although Germany had fallen and become weak that the German people were the greatest people on the earth. To unite the people he made them turn against those he saw as weaker and this lead to people believing that they were the greatest race on earth.
