The HFC trigger Jean Grey to transform into the Dark Phoenix. The X-Men, Avengers and Fantastic Four battle her in New York City resulting in her death. Both the battle and the explosive death of the Phoenix result in massive devastation.
Jean Grey, Scott Summers, John Proudstar, Harry Leland and Donald Pierce die in the battle.
Warren Worthington loses his wings.
Professor Charles Xavier falls into a Catatonic State
Logan quits and disappears.
