It’s a critical communication breakthrough because it made it more convenient for people to make phone calls when and where they want in a hand-held device. It influenced the nature of communication because now majority of people own a mobile phone and use it for many ways to communicate. A positive implication is that it is available during emergencies and it allows people to stay connected. Negative implication is that people would overuse it and can cause anxiety from dependency to stay connected.
