that tended to monopoly like:
-price discrimination
-tying (must purchase one product to get another)
-exclusive dealing
-mergers with competitors

FTC Act bans:
-unfair methods of competition
-unfair/deceptive practices
NOTE: All violations of the Sherman Act also violate FTC Act
