After the devastating battles with Russia, the French army and Napoleon were weak. The then lost to the Duke of Wellington in the peninsula war. He was then exiled to Elba, but he escaped and attacked Belgium when they weren't ready. They then went back to take a shot at the Duke of Wellington, but they lost again because they were set up in a strong military defense. Napoleon was too focused on the main attack, they lost sight of their flank. They got attacked from behind, which leads to a disoriented retreat. Napoleon fled the battle, and there was a total 25,000 killed and wounded, 9,000 captured, and the allies lost 23,000.
