Life of 'Gaius Octavius Thurinus' or Augustus (aug 19, 63 BC – aug 4, 14)
Description:
After he defeated Mark Antony and Cleopatra, and ended the civil war raging around Rome Augustus faced problems of reconstruction. He paid the armies for their services, cared for the wellfare of the provinces and adress the danger of various groups. He was highly succefull in all of these. He kept the idea that the republic was still alive going but was actually transforming it into a power ruled by a single ruler.
