Nara Period (jan 2, 710 – nov 18, 784)

Description:

The era obtained its name due to the fact that the first permanent capital was built near Nara Prefecture. Large Buddhist monasteries were also built here, and gained massive political power. The capital was moved to Nagaoka due to this. Chinese influence also starts to decline during this era.
