Industrial Revolution (jan 1, 1750 – jan 1, 1850)

Description:

The Industrial Revolution was from 1750 to 1850. During the revolution, Coal was found, and became the new source of energy. Coal lasted a long time, is powerful, and easy to get. One of the things coal is used to power is the steam engine. James Watt, an inventor/engineer made improvements, or innovations to the steam engine, making it able to be used farther distances away from a coal factory. A steam engine was used in many ways: as a energy source for machines, in locomotives and steamboats. As well as energy sources and machine improvements/findings, there where innovations in manufacturing. People went from working at home and having their own work schedule (the Domestic/Putting Out System), to working in Factories, whenever their bosses wanted them to (the Factory System). In cloths making, there where machine innovations. Wool was spun and turned into fabric by hand, until the Spinning Jenny/Water Loom (spinning wool to yarn), and Flying Shuttle (turn yarn to fabric). Then, the Power Loom was made turned wool into yarn AND turned yarn into thread.
