Description:
Beethoven's early period, in which he composed the Pathetique sonata, was known as Sturm und Drag ("storm and stress"). His middle period, during which he wrote the 5th and Eroica symphonies, was his Heroic period. His Pastoral Symphony captures another side of him than his other music. His 9th symphony was written during his late modernist period. He broke convention in this sympnony by using vocalists.
