Description:

Smallpox was discovered in the 18th century and throughout 19th century. The smallpox viruses are not alive and it requires a host cell to replicate, divide, and grow. Edward Jenner discovered in 1798 that vaccination could prevent smallpox. Smallpox is spread between people and its last occurrence was in 1977 when it got eradicated.
