Jackson's Bank War (jun 1, 1832 – jan 1, 1836)
Description:
The bank president, Nicholas Biddle, worked with Henry Clay to try and get the president to sign the bank's bill; they said if Jackson didn't sign then they would crush his chance for re-election. Jackson found out and started a war with Biddle. Jackson vetoed the bill and won his re-election by a landslide against Clay. Jackson, then, closed Biddle's bank immediately.
