Fransisco Vasquez de Coronado (apr 6, 1540 – mar 7, 1542)
Description:
Coronado was from Spain. In 1550-1542 he
crossed the “Sea of Grass” (panhandle).
he searched for the cities of gold and didn’t find them. He is known for telling about buffalo, villages, and describing Texas panhandle land. He also came into contact with Witchita.
