Description:
The first modern analog computer was known as the tide-predicting machine invented by Sir William Thomson. This modern analog computer used a system of pulleys and wires to calculate the predicted tide levels automatically at a specific location. This technology was of great use for shallow water navigation. This was the foundation for durther developments in analog computers.
