Wave Hill Strike (aug 23, 1966 – may 16, 1975)
Description:
- Aboriginal pastoral workers workers walked of the job
- Expressed their unhappiness with poor working condition and disrespectful treatment
- Unhappy with wages
- Protested for equal wages
- Up until 1968 it was illegal to pay Indigenous Australians over a certain amount in goods and money
Indigenous People not getting paid equally to other consequently meant that many strikes were held before a change would occur.
