Battle of Arnhem (sep 17, 1944 – sep 25, 1944)
Description:
The Battle of Arnhem was fought out between the Germans and the British. The reason for this battle was to try and end WW2 early. The idea came from Field Marshall Bernard Montgomery, who was a senior British army Officer and fought in WW1 & 2, and he tried to accomplish this by proceeding with an ariborne landing at Arnhem. (code-name: 'Operation Market Garden') In the end, the battle did not help end WW2 early, only added to the fire and the Germans were victorious.
