Second Battle of Ypres (apr 22, 1915 – may 25, 1915)
Description:
Fought with chemical warfare, the German Fourth Army released a cloud of chlorine gas that traveled across two French divisions. The Allied lines was broken and the way to Ypres was open.
This battle started with the surprise gas attack (in the Battle of Gravenstafel Ridge) and were followed by three counter-attacks by the allied tropps trying to regain lost ground (Battle of St. Julien, Battle of Frezenburg Ridge, and the Battle of Bellewarde Ridge).
