Vietnam War (nov 1, 1955 – apr 30, 1975)
Description:
Due to growing fears of the spread of communism and the domino theory of spreading ideologies, American troops were sent into Vietnam. The war pitted communist North Vietnam against democratic South Vietnam. The communist and anti-communist ideologies of the Soviet Union and the United States were faced against one another in another proxy war.
