Bertha Vester Spafford, writes of her Aunt Maggie's death:
On August 12, 1891, my aunt and Mrs. Sylvester went to call on a friend and were leisurely walking home along the "Back Road" now the Street of the Prophets, when Aunt Maggie said, "I'm not feeling well," and fell to the ground.
Friends carried her to the nearby Kamanitz Hotel. The doctor s verdict was that Aunt Maggie had died instantly (Our Jerusalem p. 159
