the klu klux klan was a clan of white people who still believed in the superiority of whites. they would terrorize and scare African Americans and African american sympathizers. due to the fact that they wore masks as well as most of the people in there towns being in on the action, they easily went about lynching, burning and hanging black people withought threat of punishment.
