Gilded Age (apr 1, 1877 – jan 1, 1897)
Description:
The gilded age was a portion of american history noted by its extreme economic growth while also having large amounts of poverty. Many immigrants came to the United States from poor countries in Eastern Europe, making the concentration of wealth ever more obvious. Cities grew rapidly during this era, and railroad development led to economic development. Politically, the nation was well-divided and turnout was very high on election day.
