Disease: Viral Hemorrhagic Fever (Cocoliztli)

Cause: Salmonella enterica (leading theory)

Transmission: Unknown

Symptoms:
-High fever
-Severe headache
-Vertigo
-Black tongue
-Dark urine
-Dysentery
-Severe abdominal pain
-Head & neck nodules
-Neurologic disorders
-Heavy bleeding from the facial orifices
-Death typically occurred in 3-4 days

Death toll: 5-15 million (80% of Mexican population)
