Discovery of pacific fracture zones (dec 27, 1925 – feb 28, 1939)
Description:
Systematic tracklines were conducted across the gulf of Alaska by the coast and geodetic survey. Many new canyons on the east coast were discovered. This event is significant becuase it gave the united states more insight on what was actually out there.
