Shift Close Out (mar 15, 2018 – may 15, 2018)
Description:
Time taken to close out a PO on any shift can vary mostly due to waiting on parts. This wait time can be reduced by improving parts request system for faster parts requesting, efficient DIP/DIT parts supporting system on assembly line, and early afternoon preparation.
1) Replace current (DIP/DIT parts bins) on line with better bins that allow for on line separation for quicker parts requests.
2) Current system is time consuming and not efficient. New system upgrades and changes to UI will automate the request process for simple parts request automation.
3) Measure success by taking current average line waiting on parts at end of shift and compare against new process changes.
