The Stock Market Crash (sep 3, 1929 – oct 29, 1929)

Description:

on September 3rd 1929, Share prices peaked in the New York stock exchange . the largest stock exchange in North America. After that the share prices fell, at first people who invested didn't worry because stocks had fallen before and had risen again but this time the stock prices didn't rise again. On October 24th, 1929, newspapers reported that millions of shares were sold the day before. Prices had dropped again because investors wanted to get rid of their shares as fast as possible by selling them on the market. Five days later on October 29th there was a selling frenzy which caused a crash of the stock market. that day is now called black Tuesday. Overnight many peoples investments in Canada and the United States had become worthless.
