Reformation (jan 1, 1517 – jan 1, 1648)
Description:
The Protestant Reformation was the 16th-century religious, political, intellectual and cultural upheaval that splintered Catholic Europe, setting in place the structures and beliefs that would define the continent in the modern era. One impact this event had is that it weakened the church power. People were no longer forced to believe in the Catholic religion. This contributed to the freedom of religion under the individual rights and freedoms: a key principle of classical liberalism.
