Ernest Rutherford: He lived in Brightwater, New Zealand. The empty space model was created by him. The experiment he performed was called the gold foil experiment. In this experiment he used Radium as the source of the alpha particles. He shot at a thin gold foil which was like aluminum but made out of gold. He observed the impact of the alpha particles. With this experiment he found out that the nucleus is a small dense and positive and the electrons revolve around the nucleus. (jan 1, 0 – feb 14, 1871)
