CHEST OF SILVER - PERSIA (jan 1, 562 BC – jan 1, 323 BC)
Description:
The chest of silver is the Persian empire. Under its ruler, Cyrus II, the Persian Empire grows very large (covering today’s Iran and Afghanistan). He defeats both the King of Media, the King of Lydia, and captures Babylon in 538. In 520, his successor Darius I starts to build the great capital city of Persepolis and extends the empire still further.
