The First Civilizations (Africa, Middle East, Asia) (jan 1, 2450 BC – jan 1, 2000 BC)

Description:

After the Great Flood, Noah and his sons and their wives leave the ark. Their offspring are the nations that begin to fill the earth.
The first organized groups of people are thought to have lived and farmed in four fertile river valleys: the Indus in India, between the Tigris and Euphrates in Mesopotamia, the Nile in Egypt and the Yellow River in China. As these groups develop, people start to do different jobs, and bring wealth and power to their city
states.
In Egypt, the first pharaoh, Menes, joins the two countries of North and South Egypt. Mathematicians, doctors, artists, engineers, and builders enrich life in the Egyptian kingdom. The rule of the Pharoahs lasts for 2500 years.
In Mesopotamia, the Sumerians begin to write
using picture language. They divide the day into 24 hours, 60 minutes, 60 seconds, and the circle into 360 degrees. Mesopotamians use both the stone potter’s wheel and the wooden cartwheel. They were mostly farmers, but they also built large temples.
In China, the Chinese make silk from the cocoons of silkworms. They also build walled towns, study the stars and medicine, and produce great works of art.
