Enlightenment 1685 Enlightenment was the philosophical and intellectual movement that dominated Europe in the 17th and 18th centuries with global influences and effects. Emphasizing reason over superstition and science over blind faith. The significance of the enlightenment was the foundation of modern, western, political, and intellectual culture.
The American Revolution 1775 American Revolution was an ideological and political revolution that occurred in British America by the British attempting to impose greater control over the colonies. The significance of the American Revolution was it ideals liberty, equality, natural and civil rights, and responsible citizenship.
Declaration of Independence 1776 The Declaration of Independence is the pronouncement and founding document adopted by the second continental congress meeting in PA state house. The significance of the Declaration marked an official step taken by the American colonies toward independence from British rule under the monarchy of King George III.
The Taiping Rebellion 1850 This was a massive rebellion and civil war that was waged in China between the Manchu-led Qing dynasty and the Han, Hakka-led Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. The significance of the Taiping rebellion was it laid the groundwork for future revolutionary movements in China.

The significance of the exchange was to produce crops to the old world. It helped by bringing the western and eastern hemispheres together with the transfer of resrouces
Protestant Reformation 1517 The Protestant Reformation began when Martin Luther published a document on the power of indulgences, or 95 theses. The document was a series of 95 ideas about Christianity that he invited people to debate with him. This event was significant because it brought an end to the unity of medieval christianity in Western Europe and profoundly reshaped history.
Atlantic Slave trade 1526-1867 12.5 million captured men, women, and children were put on ships in Africa with 10.7 million arriving in America. The transportation by slave traders of enslaved African people, mainly to America. The significance of the Atlantic slave trade was to obtain labour as the population of the new world had declined because of the lack of immunity against imported pathogens.
The French Revolution 1789-1794 King Louis XVI needed more money but failed to raise more taxes when he had called a meeting of the estates general. This then turned into a protest about conditions in France. The significance of the French Revolution was it put an end to the feudal system and strengthened France as a Country.
The Great War 1914-1918 The Great War was a global conflict that happened after the assassination of Franz Ferdinand of Austria which resulted in one of the deadliest conflicts in history. The significance of the Great War was to create numerous new nation states, and encouraged independence movements in Europe's colonies. Also led to Soviet communism and the rise of Hitler.
Hitler's War 1939-1941 Hitler initiated World War II in Europe by invading Poland on September 1st, he was closely involved in military operations throughout the war and was central part of the holocaust. The significance of Hitler's War was the only way to gain necessary living space for the German raced to expand. Also, expel the jews from the Greater German Reich.
