Events
1916- a provincial committee recommended to reduce the number of reserves further by adding land to some and eliminating land from others.
1927- the government decided that aboriginals had not established any claims to the land.
1931- the newly created native brotherhood of British Columbia continued to fight for recognition of aboriginal title .
it was not until the early 1990s however, that the federal and provincial governments recognizes aboriginal communities
