1971- elijah harper went to the university
of Manitoba where his political
awareness had time to develop
further.1981- he ran for NPD in the
Manitoba provincial annual
election and won this spot.after a serious illness in
1992, he had a vision that
he could work towards aboriginal
healing and unity.1995- he was involved in the
historic agreement in which
Manitoba bands received
powers of self goverment.1994- he was a part of a
delegation that traveled
to south Africa.1996- he part of a delegation that
traveled to south Africa in 1996 to
help their transition from
apartheid to self goverment.1992- he stood by these convictions
when he refused the meech lake
accord in the manitoba legislation act.
