Federalist Party Sometimes reffered to as the Pro administration Party. It was the first American Political party. They believed in a strong government with strong fiscal roots.
Democratic- Republican Party Formed by Thomas Jefferson and James Madison. It was made in opposition to Alexander Hamilton's New Federalist party. They did not believe a strong central government and was more for individual states rights.
Anti Masonic Party Third Party in the United Stated, founded by John Quincy Adams, William Wirt, Thurlow Weed, and Solomon Southwik. Movement stated as an opposition to the Free Masonry party. This party flourished in the heated political atmosphere because the whole point of it was to contraict the Masons or Freemasons.
National Republican Party Founded by John Quincy Adams and Henry Clay. It was sometimes called the Anti- Jacksonian Party. It evolved off a faction of the Democratic Republican Party after it began to be less effective after the 1824 election.
Democratic Party Founded by Andrew Jackson and Martin Van Buren when supporters of Thomas Jefferson started using the name "Republican to emphasize the anti aristocratic policies. Democrats believe in equality for all fronts, and equal opportunity despite race, region, sex, or sexual orientation. An example of a law passed because of this is Gay Marrige.
Whig Party Founded by Henry Clay, William Henry Harrison, Daniel Webster, and Horace Greeley. This party acted as a glue pulling together former members of the National Republican and the Anti Masonic Party. It was made in opposition to Andrew Jackson and the Democrats. Whigs stood for protective tarrifs, national banking, and fedral aid for internal improvemet.
